A Little Light In a Difficult Season Gratitude without denying what hurts—with comforting scents and small home-care rituals.

Room for both truths.
November often arrives with an invitation to give thanks. But when you are grieving, caregiving, under financial strain, or carrying complicated holiday memories, gratitude can feel like another demand. I lost my mother in October, and I’m still moving through real sadness.
Gratitude does not ask me to pretend I’m okay. It can look like clean sheets, a friend who checks in, or warm water over my hands.
I don’t have to be grateful for what hurt me to notice what helps me keep going.
Instead of counting blessings, I can ask: What made today easier to bear? Who showed me kindness? What comfort can I offer myself tonight?
There is no correct number of answers. Some days, the most honest one is simply: I made it through today.

Pause. Pair. Proceed.
The Proper Pairing Protocol™ brings Scent · Sound · Sip ·
Intention into a gentle daily pause.
Scent: Choose an aroma you enjoy—or go fragrance-free.
Sound: Play a gentle instrumental track, listen to the rain, or welcome silence.
Sip: Enjoy plain tea or another comforting beverage. Essential oils never belong in the cup.
Intention: “I can acknowledge what is hard and still receive a moment of care.”
THE NOVEMBER PAIRING QUESTION
“What offered me a little care today?”
Small comforts. Honest gratitude.
PERSONAL RITUALS • THE NOVEMBER RECIPE COLLECTION

01 • PERSONAL INHALER
Small Joys
INGREDIENTS
1 personal inhaler and cotton wick • 3 drops Sweet Orange • 2 drops Lemon • 1 drop Juniper Berry • 1 drop Cedarwood Virginian essential oil.
MAKE & ENJOY
Set the wick in a glass dish; add oils without touching them with bare fingers. Assemble with tweezers according to the inhaler instructions. Cap and label.

What small kindness did I notice today?
02 • 10 mL ROLL-ON
Steady Ground
INGREDIENTS
1 drop Frankincense Serrata • 1 drop Cedarwood Virginian
essential oil • jojoba oil to the bottle’s recommended fill line.
MAKE & ENJOY
Add essential oils, then jojoba; leave room for the insert. Close, gently mix, and label with ingredients and date.
Test a small amount on intact skin. If tolerated, apply a small swipe to a wrist or forearm. Avoid face, eyes, mucous membranes, and broken skin. Drop sizes vary; this is not an exact percentage formulation.
What has helped me feel supported?
03 • PERSONAL INHALER
One Thing at a Time
INGREDIENTS
1 personal inhaler and cotton wick • 3 drops Lemon • 1 drop Spearmint • 1 drop Rosemary • 1 drop Thyme essential oil, chemotype linalool only.
MAKE & ENJOY
Prepare and use as for Small Joys. Do not substitute Thyme chemotype thymol, carvacrol-rich thyme, or an unidentified thyme oil. If the chemotype is unknown, omit Thyme.
What is one manageable thing I can do next?
CHOOSE YOUR AROMA
November’s palette
Sweet Orange and Lemon offer bright citrus notes. Juniper Berry, Cedarwood Virginian, and Frankincense Serrata add woodland and resin character. Spearmint, Rosemary, and Thyme bring herbal accents.
Clove, Cinnamon, and Star Anise appear as whole botanicals on the next page—not concentrated spice oils in skin blends or inhalers.
The goal is not the strongest fragrance. It is an aroma that feels welcome.
Before blending: Personal recipes are for generally healthy adults. Use fresh, clearly identified oils and clean equipment. Seek individualized advice during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with asthma, epilepsy, other significant medical conditions, or around children and pets. Stop for headache, coughing, nausea, or irritation. Never ingest oils or apply undiluted. Store securely away from children and pets. Aromatherapy is not medical treatment.
HEALTHY HOME • FRAGRANCE SEPARATE FROM CLEANING
A little care for the space you live in.
Fragrance is a separate ritual, not a cleaning ingredient or a disinfectant.

04 • AROMATHERAPY MIST
Welcome to This Moment
INGREDIENTS
Aromatic blend: 2 partsSweet Orange • 1 part Frankincense Serrata • 1 part Cedarwood Virginian essential oil.
Use an unscented room-spray base specifically designed for essential oils, with appropriate solubilization and preservation. Incorporate the blend only at the supplier’s approved rate and by its prescribed method; follow packaging and storage directions. Do not add water.
There is no universal base-to-oil quantity. Without
compatibility and mixing instructions, choose a professionally formulated mist. Water and oils alone are not a suitable stored spray.
Use sparingly with ventilation, away from people, pets, food, faces, and flames. Not a body or pillow spray.
What would make this space more welcoming?
05 • DISHWASHING RITUAL
After Supper
You’ll need: warm water • unscented dishwashing detergent • 5 drops of sweet orange essential oil • brush or sponge • clean rinse water.
Add the essential oil drops to the dishwater. Wash, rinse thoroughly, and dry. For optional scent, briefly use the Small Joys inhaler before starting, then cap and put away.
What nourishment did this meal offer? Even toast eaten alone counts.
Let enough be enough. Wash one cup. Clear one corner. Ask for help. The difficult things can remain difficult; the comforting things can still matter.
06 • FRESHLY MIXED CLEANER
Fresh-Start Counter
INGREDIENTS
2 cups warm water • ½ teaspoon mild, unscented hand-dishwashing detergent • 1 drop of clove essential Oil • 3 drops of lemon essential oil
Mix in a clean bowl. Test a hidden area of a compatible
washable surface. Wipe with a cloth, follow with a clean
water cloth to remove residue, and dry.
Follow surface-care instructions. Make only what you need; discard leftovers. Do not mix with bleach, ammonia, vinegar, or other cleaners. Mild disinfectant: when heavier disinfection is needed, use 2 drops of clove essential oil and 4 drops of lemon essential oil.
What small area can I make easier to live in?
