Better Buying in the Bluegrass

An Interview with

Laura Sizemore

Q1 - Hey!  Thanks for taking the time to be here.  Can you start by sharing a little bit about yourself and your business?

I work relentlessly for my clients. More information is always better in my opinion, I really strive to make sure my clients are educated to the best of my knowledge and provide them with resources to better serve them in their search or sale of their home.

Q2 - I love learning about how people began as a real estate agent because our stories are always so different.  What was the inspiration or reason you decided to get into real estate?

I am a researcher by heart and dedicated DIYer. I’m always wanting to learn about more things or how to do something. I have done almost every home project you could think of from refinishing our own hardwood floors to designing a home to look cohesive to learning about and implementing healthy home best practices.

Q3 - What services do you offer? And why did you choose to offer those particular services?

That’s a hard question. I do about absolutely anything and everything for my clients. Anytime they need my help I’m there ready to go, I really pride myself on being a full service real estate agent, much like a high level concierge for anything real estate related. That also goes for even after my clients purchase or sell a home. I’m always available and ready to help

Q4 - Can you recall a challenging client or situation that you were able to fix or overcome?  How did you fix it?

Communication is key in real estate, well really in anything you do, but especially real estate. Setting my clients up for success with clear communication and expectations throughout our time together, really does change the experience for my clients. Every transaction has its hiccups and pivots, but my clients are always in the driver seat. I don’t necessarily “fix” anything. I provide my clients with options and considerations based on my years of experience. We talk through potential scenarios so that they can make the BEST INFORMED decision for themselves and their situation.

Q5 - What have you learned about yourself and your business over the years?  How has your business changed to adapt to changing buyer and seller needs?

The market is always changing and I really pride myself on knowing what the market is doing in real time so I can advise my clients appropriately. The only way to do that is to be actively working full time in real estate and being dedicated to your clients. Strategy is one of my biggest assets as a real estate agent and proves to be beneficial to my clients.

Q6 - Real estate is not easy.  If you could go back in time what advice would you give yourself?

That it’s okay to have boundaries. I am a mother of three young children and a dedicated wife. My clients all know that I will not miss something that is important to myself or my family, and if a client cannot respect or understand that, then frankly I’m the wrong agent for them, and that’s okay.

Q7- We've all had amazing clients or stories to share that make being an agent all worth it.  Can you share a story about a teammate, vendor or client that really impacted you and touched your heart?

Honestly, all my clients make a huge impact on me. I am deeply involved with my clients, which is why most choose to hire me to represent them. That’s how I best serve them! It’s not just a transaction to me, it’s deeply personal. I get to know them, their marriage, their humor, their family, their needs, everything! Many of my clients still communicate with me after the transaction; and to that I’m really thankful to have built these relationships over the years.

Q8 - If a potential client were reading this article, what would you tell them about you, your team or your business that would convince them to choose you?

Convincing isn’t really my thing. I am very transparent, I don’t sugar coat anything and also want to understand people as a whole so I can truly best serve them. Not every potential client will vibe with me and how I operate, and that’s alright. But if you are looking for someone hardworking and will absolutely serve you to the highest level in real estate, I’m the woman to hire.

Q9 - Fun fact about yourself that people may not know.

I’m a south suburb of Chicago transplant.

Q10 - Where do you see your business going in the next 5 to 10 years?

Ideally, I am consulting for healthy home construction, either educating builders and contractors, or developing my own subdivision community that is geared towards healthy homes and holistic families.

We enjoyed learning so much about you and your business.  How can people learn more or get in touch with you?

You can learn more about me by heading over to my website listed or feel free to check me out on IG @lauralists859 or even giving me a call so we can talk over the phone. I really do like connecting over the phone and having conversations, I’m a bit old school with communication!

Thank you so much for being a part of the WellnessRE™ PRO Agent Spotlight!

Thanks so much for having me!
